The Friends sponsored National Library Week at the Library the week of April 19th-25th 2026. A drawing will be held each day of the week, and one winner will be picked each night to win a tote bag. Cake was brought on the 20th for staff and patrons alike to enjoy!

The Friends of the L.D. Fargo Public Library hosted a Holiday Book Party for area Head Start students last Wednesday at the Rock Lake Activity Center.After milk and cookies and singing holiday songs, children’s librarian, Miss Becca, read some stories. The children were then each presented with a book to unwrap; and thanks to a generous anonymous donor, each child received and additional book.
Thank you, Kathleen O’Hearn and Carol Burrows for organizing this heartwarming event. Miss Kellie says that Head Start enrollment is now open for 2026

Friends of the L.D. Fargo Public Library hosted a book party at Club 55 for the Head Start students. It is our third year of hosting and this year we were able to give not only to the students but to the classroom as well. Thank you to those who participated in the season of giving and cheer.

Congratulations to:
– Karen Breneman of Rio who won the 2025 Friends of the Library Garden Tour Raffle for a local artist’s garden sculpture. She and the sculpture are pictured in the first photo along with Robert Breneman and the artist Thomas (Bud) Skupniewitz.
– Julia Kendl who won the 2022 Friends of the Library Garden Tour Raffle for a remote controlled cooler donated by Seljan and Custom Cooler Creations. She and the cooler are pictured in the second photo, alongside the Friends of The Library President Vicki Wickliffe
